Terms of Service

These Terms apply to sleik.is and related pages/paths that are part of the service (including games, leaderboards, challenges, points, the store and the Sleikcraft game servers). Some games work without an account; others require one to save progress, earn points, or appear on leaderboards.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using sleik.is (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Sleik.is provides browser-based games and related features. Depending on the game, you may be able to:

play games in your browser (solo or with others),
save progress, settings, and statistics,
participate in leaderboards, challenges, or events,
stake points on the outcome of prediction events,
earn and spend points, and buy cosmetic items in the store,
link a character on our Sleikcraft (Luanti) game servers,
submit feedback and bug reports.

The Service is supported by advertising, which we serve ourselves (see section 11).

3. Eligibility and Age Requirement

The Service is generally intended for users 13 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent/guardian if required by applicable law.

4. Accounts and Sign-In

You can browse the site and play many single-player games without an account. Signing in is required for multiplayer games, leaderboards, points and your profile, and is handled solely by Sleik ID, our single sign-on for all Sleik services, using an email address, Google, or a passkey. Accounts created before Sleik ID are linked to a Sleik ID automatically on first sign-in when a verified email address matches. Playing without signing in creates no account, earns no points and saves no progress.

You are responsible for:

keeping your login credentials secure,
all activity that occurs under your account,
notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.

5. Acceptable Use and Conduct

When using sleik.is you agree that you will NOT:

use abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate usernames/display names,
harass, threaten, or bully other users,
attempt to hack, bypass security, or misuse the Service,
use bots, scripts, automation, or unauthorized tools to gain an unfair advantage,
exploit bugs or vulnerabilities (please report them to us instead),
manipulate scores, leaderboards, or points balances through cheating or coordinated abuse.

Violations may result in actions such as removal from leaderboards, adjustment or removal of points, temporary restrictions, suspension, or account termination.

6. Game Rules, Scoring, and Disputes

Each game on sleik.is may have its own rules (e.g., scoring, time limits, allowed inputs/word lists, win conditions). If a dispute arises regarding rules, scoring, or technical issues, we reserve the right to make the final determination and/or correct obvious errors.

We may update rules, scoring, balance, or game logic to improve the experience.
Leaderboards may be adjusted, reset, or moderated (e.g., for seasons, updates, or to address abuse).

7. Points, Store and Virtual Items

Sleik.is uses points, a virtual in-site currency. Points are earned by playing games and through occasional bonuses, and can be spent in the store on cosmetic items.

Points have no monetary value. They cannot be bought for money, and they cannot be exchanged, redeemed, cashed out, or transferred for money or anything of real-world value, whether on sleik.is or elsewhere.
Some games and events let you stake points. Games such as slots, roulette, plinko and blackjack, and prediction events in the betting section, let you stake points on an outcome and win or lose them. Odds and payouts are set by us and may be corrected; an event may be cancelled, in which case stakes are returned. Because points cannot be purchased or redeemed for money, these are entertainment features and not gambling, and no real money is ever at stake.
Items are a licence, not property. Store purchases grant a personal, non-transferable right to use an item within the Service. Purchases are final and are not refundable in money.
We may correct balances. We may adjust, reverse, or remove points, transactions, or items that result from a bug, an exploit, cheating, or other abuse, and we may change earning rates, prices, or the item catalogue at any time.
Points and items are tied to your account. They end when your account is deleted or terminated, and we have no obligation to compensate you for them.

8. Sleikcraft Game Servers

You may link a character on our Sleikcraft (Luanti) servers to your sleik.is account. The rules in section 5 apply in-game as well, and server administrators may moderate, kick, ban, unlink a character, or roll back in-game changes where these Terms are broken or the server's stability is at risk. In-game chat and activity are logged for moderation. We do not guarantee that any world, build, or in-game progress will be preserved.

9. User Content

If you submit content (e.g., a display name, avatar, feedback, chat messages), you represent that you have the right to do so and that the content does not violate laws or the rights of others.

We may remove or modify user content (including usernames and avatars) without notice if it violates these Terms or is otherwise inappropriate.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on sleik.is (including code, design, text, graphics, and trademarks) is owned by sleik.is or its licensors, unless stated otherwise. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use.

You may NOT:

copy, distribute, republish, or create derivative works without written permission,
use any part of the Service for commercial purposes without permission,
reverse engineer or attempt to circumvent restrictions,
systematically scrape or harvest data without permission.

11. Advertising

sleik.is currently shows no ads. Should advertising be reintroduced, it will be served from our own infrastructure rather than through a third-party ad network. Ads may link to websites we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Interfering with ad delivery — for example by automating clicks or inflating impressions — is a breach of section 5.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service relies on third-party services (e.g., authentication, hosting, maps, support ticketing, and security filtering) and may include links to websites not controlled by us. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and their terms and policies may apply.

13. Service Provided "As Is"

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may modify, update, restrict, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

loss of data, scores, points, items, or progress due to technical issues or updates,
indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use (or inability to use) the Service,
the conduct of other users,
interruptions caused by factors outside our reasonable control (e.g., hosting/network outages).

15. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate access (including accounts) if:

these Terms are violated,
cheating or abuse occurs,
the security of the Service or other users is at risk.

16. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using sleik.is, you also agree to that policy.

17. Purchases, Prices and Payments

sleik.is sells merchandise (physical goods such as clothing) in the shop at shop.sleik.is, and accepts voluntary support payments ("buy me a coffee"). A support payment buys no goods, no service and no benefit. Points and virtual items in the games (see section 7) are not purchased with money.

All prices are shown and charged in Icelandic krónur (ISK) and the price shown is the final price. The seller is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Shipping is added separately and shown before you pay. There are no hidden charges.

sleik.is sells no subscriptions. Every payment is a single one-off charge. Nothing renews automatically, no card is stored for future charges, and there are no trial periods.

Payments are processed securely by Kling (Journey ehf.). Card details go directly to Kling and are never stored by us. Visa and Mastercard are accepted. See our privacy policy for how card data is handled.

Merchandise ships within Iceland and is dispatched within 3 business days of payment. You may withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving it, and sleik.is pays the return postage. Accepted returns are refunded in full within 14 days of us receiving the item. A support payment buys no goods and no service, so there is nothing to return; if you would nonetheless like one refunded, get in touch.

18. Business Information

There is no company behind sleik.is. The site is run by an individual as a hobby, and turnover is below the Icelandic VAT registration threshold — the seller is therefore not VAT-registered and has no VAT number.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Icelandic law. Disputes shall generally be resolved before Icelandic courts, unless mandatory rules provide otherwise.
